Or maybe it’s a train 11/52 hatchet snow tunnel
a year ago today I made my 67th peace sign “a peaceful discipline.” It’s a good reminder to work hard even when the goal seems impossible. Thanks to the 20 + inches of snow in my yard next week I am going to try another snow based peace. 10/52
I have had this gout stool in pieces since my grandmother died. I had plans but no follow through. This week I found out my a dear friend of grandma’s passed away back in January. It seemed fitting to work on the gout stool. So I carved a peace sign on each side, coated it in danish oil and put it back together. 6/52 gout stool
I had a pretty involved project planned out this week. It didn’t work out. It was pretty disappointing. It got me thinking about my expectations. As a way to explore my own visual vocabulary I have been using an art therapy workbook and this weeks exercise was to create a feelings map with 6 emotions. This is what I drew for the last prompt, love of self and others. Love is peace and peace is love. 4/52 charcoal feelings map
I am still planning this weeks peace sign. Last weeks is available for sale in my Etsy store. I have also added some other peace signs and some mosaic pieces too. Check it out. I will be at the Bennington Farmer’s Market again this Saturday January 20, 2018 from 10 to 1. Stop in and say hi! Happy Winter.
